In the beginning, the Jiji route was mostly used to transport materials of the power plant and later tourists, agricultural produce and wood as the region developed that is truly a functional monument. This station was destroyed in the 921 Earthquake but later reconstructed and restored to its original Japanese-style look, which is the only train station from Japanese occupation era left now.

The rustic small town is known for its diverse tourism resources, there’s also exhibition of National Army M24Chaffee near the famous Jiji Train Station, which attract endless tourists on the holidays, being the most important and well-known attraction of Jiji Township.
